Half of my life is spent at 59 degrees North latitude on the shores of Alaska's Kachemak Bay. The other half is spent at 70 degrees North latitude on the Central Beaufort Sea Coast. Lots happens in between, too, in this land known as The Last Frontier.

Navigation
It just so happens that I own the National Geographic seamless USGS topographical maps on CD-ROM for the entire glorious State of Alaska. I create my own daily itinerary maps complete with elevation profiles, routes, symbols, notes, distances, and GPS coordinates. These are laminated back-to-back and placed in my pack along with a Denali map, my GPS, and a compass. My partner will carry a copy of the custom laminated maps as well, along with the necessary tools for orienteering. Navigation made simple.
