Half of my life is spent at 59 degrees North latitude on the shores of Alaska's Kachemak Bay. The other half is spent at 70 degrees North latitude on the Central Beaufort Sea Coast. Lots happens in between, too, in this land known as The Last Frontier.

It All Starts with Breakfast

Anyone who has ever camped under extreme winter conditions knows that everything takes 5 times longer to accomplish. Hence, organize at home. Simple.
Breakfast will consist of 3 instant oatmeals, a cup of dried fruit, 6 raspberry fig bars, some vitamins, and a Clif Bar in the pocket. This will be washed down with large quantities of sweet hot black tea. Our daily caloric intake will be massive: our bodies will be fighting extremely cold temperatures and working hard physically; food must be appetizing, easily converted for a steady stream of energy, abundant, and hassle free.
